Dr.Kiran Deepak, is a renowned interventional cardiologist who has been practicing in Ahmednagar for many years. He currently serves as the Director – Cath Lab, Saideep Hospital. In his previous capacity, he was the Chief of Cardiology Department at Anand Rishiji Hospital, Ahmednagar, and also the Chief and Head Of the Department of Cardiology Department at Padmasri Vikhe Patil Medical College, Ahmednagar.
Dr. Kiran is known to be an early adopter of Radial Angiography and Angioplasty. This is underscored by the fact that he has the distinction of being the first doctor in Ahmednagar, to perform coronary angioplasties by radial route. He has handled some of Maharashtra’s most complex cases and on numerous occasions been brought on as an expert and saviour to redo failed angioplasties.
Credited with transforming his expertise and seniority in the field of cardiology for public welfare, Dr. Kiran enjoys remarkable popularity within the medical fraternity. He has delivered several public lectures on topics such as awareness and prevention of coronary artery disease, life style modification, treatments and investigative approaches of cardiology etc. An avid reader, Dr. Kiran has completed his M.D (Med) from JNMC, Belgaum and DNB (Cardiology) of National board. He has worked under the eminent guidance of Dr B Somaraju, a pioneer in the field of Cardiology, an author of several text books of Cardiology, at Care Hospitals, Hyderabad.
Carried out numerous procedures which includes but not limited to more than 20,000 Coronary angiograms mainly radial route, Angioplasties (5000), Temporary pacemaker & Permanent pacemakers,Pericardial fluid tapping, PBMV, ASD and PDA device closures.
Academic Achievements
- Received gold medal at IAE in 2008 in NATESEA PANDIAN case study competition on ASD device endocarditis.
- Received 1st prize in poster presentation at CSI—2008 in CT angiography in post PTCA patients.
- He has been actively taking part in several CMEs, Seminars and Conferences worldwide updating himself and bringing in new trends in the practice of Cardiology. He has presented various Case papers and has been a part of Several Clinical and Drug trials.
